Come Join Yokota’s Filipino American Association!

Welcome to the Yokota chapter of the Filipino American Association.  Associations, traditionally, play and important part of Filipino life.  Here at Yokota, we sponsor get togethers which include singing, dancing, movies, trips, and many more activities.  As with all associations, we have meetings and special events that we host and offer to the community to include events supporting Asian Heritage Month.  Most recently members of the Filipino American Association hosted a clothing and canned goods drive in support of the ongoing disasters caused by flooding and typhoons in the Philippines.

Friends & Family

As members of the extended military family, we aim to take care of our own, however as we are Filipino Americans in some form or another, we work together to support our brothers and sisters as their loved ones deploy from Yokota Air Base to support operations around the world.  Our events are designed to get the entire family involved so that everyone feels a part of life in the local community and perhaps for a moment a little less saddened by the departure of a loved one.

Special Needs

Filipino Americans share common bonds where many of us still have families spread around the world.  While we may live as Americans in Japan, our hearts are still Filipino and desire sights and sounds from our homeland.  The Filipino American Association intends to make available any information via our website to help you keep in touch with your families abroad.  We will provide information about everything ranging from balikbayan for your larger shipping needs to where can you find the most authenticate bihon noodles available in the Kanto plains region.  If there is something that we did not write about, please let us know and we’ll poll our community to see if anyone has experience with it.

As we plan and hold special events for the Yokota community, we’ll post information here allowing for maximum participation.  We know how difficult it is to find time in already busy schedules so we will do our best to plan our events weeks to months in advance.
